Come and join us on the 13th December at 6:30pm for our first concert of the 26/27 season.
Our Main Orchestra’s programme features two works of heroic defiance, plus one of classical music’s most famous swansongs.
Arnold’s Peterloo Overture portrays the hope and suffering of innocent victims of the suppression of a nineteenth century meeting on political reform.
Soprano Katy Thomson then joins the Orchestra for Strauss’s Four Last Songs, his final completed work.
Our Training Orchestra open the second half of our concert, playing works by Shostakovich, Elgar and Piazzolla.
The Main Orchestra will then return to the stage to close the programme with Shostakovich’s epic Fifth Symphony.
